I’m an art student in my second year of college, about to move on to a University in another semester or two. I have a passion for all art, but lately I’ve been trying my hand at graphic design. I really want to design CD art/Album Art for bands, so I was hoping to find some information about Photoshop CS3 for beginners. I know the extreme basics, but I still get confused sometimes. If anybody knows of a good tutorial for CD Jewel cases, Album Art basics, or anything remotely related, please let me know. I have Googled this information, and feel like if I received public opinion I could better choose which tutorial to use. Thank you

Hi there! CS3 is a very powerful tool. I started with learning tutorial from Lynda.com and http://www.graphicdesigntutorials.org. The Eseentials and the Advanced Technique totorials. After that, I pretty much just utilized youtube. Just type in what you want to do and your photoshop version. Lets say for example you want to change the hair color. I’d type “change hair color CS3″. Or if you want to remove pimples and other unsightly stuff, I’d type in “remove blemishes CS3″. You get my drift? hehe. BTW, results will be a lot, so you can filter it or choose the one whose like bar looks promising
You might also want to upgrade to CS%. It’s great. And for your lighting effects, try Adobe Lightroom. I’m still using 3.3. I love it
